Workshop: Living Simply and Generously
With the rising costs of housing, education and healthcare, many of us feel challenged to live within our means and pursue our dreams. At the same time, we are increasingly aware of the disproportionate privilege we possess in comparison with most of the worlds population.
What does it mean to live justly and sustainably in a culture of prosperity and materialism? How can we apply what Jesus taught about time, money and possessions to our current life context?
Join us for a learning experience where we explore financial freedom and life creativity in a culture of consumption and greed. The workshop will take place from 2PM to 4PM on Sunday, September 14th in the Fellowship Hall.
If you are interested in this workshop, please contact Janna-The-Bananna-Santoro.

Hope Walks
This fundraising event takes place on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at William Jessup University in Rocklin. Its purpose is to not only raise funds, but to also raise awareness of the growing number of children affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Several of our community members are involved with this event, and it would be great to have a good representation from Flood supporting the effort. Register online and find more information at www.hopewalks.org.

Socks and Gloves
The Kingdom of God is like people venturing out of their places of comfort and air conditioned rooms to bring love to those who are outcasts and poor. It was hot and we know practices such as these are still stretching and challenging for some of us. Whatever the case- it was good that we were there.
